Perseid Meteor Shower – Peak viewing late evening to dawn
August 11 @ 12:00 am - 5:30 am
The annual August sky show of falling stars or the Perseid Meteor Shower will be at peak on the early mornings of August 11, 12 and 13th. Evening viewing will be best later at night, EarthSky has lots of information on optimum viewing. Grab a nap during the day and find your favourite viewing spot at night for the summer spectacle. You can expect 50 to 60 meteors an hour, just give your eyes about 20 minutes to adjust to the light. Don’t forget the moon will be out and find a vantage spot in the shadow of the moon.
